Matilda Paulsson is from Lund in Sweden and was educated at Mälardalen Högskola, the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, the Royal School of Music in London and The Opera Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Paulsson has worked at several European opera houses and has sung roles in the Rosenkavalier, the Marriage of Figaro, Così fan tutte, Il Mondo della Luna, Poppea's Coronation, Die Fledermaus, Hansel and Gretel, Xerxes, Saul, Ariadne on Naxos and the Swedish opera Zarah. She also has a varied concert and oratorio repertoire which includes Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem and Tipett's A Child of Our Time.
