Anders Kjellberg Nilsson was born in 1983 and is one of the most active young Norwegian violinists today. He has performed as a soloist with all the Norwegian symphony orchestras and he also performs as a chamber musician and ensemble leader. Anders was educated at the Hochschule für Musik, the "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin, and the Edsberg Music Institute in Stockholm with Ulf Wallin as a teacher. He also has a soloist Diploma from the Academy of Music where he studied with Detlef Hahn. Anders has won the two biggest Norwegian Rijkskonsertenes competitions: the Intro-klassisk and the Princess Astrid Music Prize. He can be heard on several recordings and performs as leader of the Trondheimsolistene on their Grammy-nominated album Divertimenti. As a chamber musician Anders is in constant demand at concert series and festivals, and he is one of the artistic leaders of the Hardanger Music Festival. Anders was recently awarded the KORK-prize for his interpretation of Elgar's violin concerto with the Norwegian Kringkastingsorkesteret.
