Christian Ihle Hadland was born in Stavanger in 1983. In his childhood he received piano lessons from Ingeborg Songe Møller. Later he received instruction from Professor Erling Ragnar Eriksen at Stavanger University College and from Professor Jiri Hlinka at the Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo. Ihle Hadland has distinguished himself as a soloist with all the Norwegian symphony orchestras, making his debut with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2005. He has collaborated with musicians such as Henning Kraggerud, Lars Anders Land, Truls Mørk, Janine Jansen, and Ivry Gitlis. He has won the Rudolf Firkusny Competition in Prague. He also won the Shell award for 2004 and 2007, and he won the Kjell Bækkelund honorary award in 2006. In 2007 he won the Norwegian Soloist award and the Young Lindeman Award. Ihle Hadland accompanied soprano Renée Flemming during the award ceremony for the Nobel Peace Prize on 10 December 2006.
