Reidar Hauge
Reidar Hauge started, and is the Chief Executive Officer of, the Gloger Academy, which hosts both the Gloger Festival and a variety of concerts in Kongsberg Church all year round. He also initiated the church choir, 'Kongsberg Kantori', in 1973 and was its conductor until 2007.
Hauge has been employed as 'Kantor' (i.e. organist) at Kongsberg church since 1973. He studied at Bergen Musikkonservatorium and Minnesota University, USA. Hauge has also composed and arranged music for both choirs and orchestras. Since 1998 he has been the linchpin, as well as the initiator, of the "From scratch" concerts in Kongsberg church. Hauge also initiated the ambitious restoration of the 200 year old Gloger organ, which was completed in January 2001. After the inauguration of the restored organ, Hauge promoted the idea of a special festival with the organ at its centre, an initiative which resulted in the annual Gloger festival.
In September 2006, Hauge recorded the CD ”Gloger”.
